So, in other words, your precious cells aren’t getting enough fuel. They’re literally being strangled, gasping for breath. If you’ve ever climbed to the top of a tall mountain, you know what I’m talking about. You can barely breathe, let alone carry on a conversation because your body isn’t getting enough oxygen. That’s how your cells are forced to operate pretty much every day. If they could talk, they’d be screaming “H-E-L-P.”
Look at it like this. If you were getting only one out of every five hours of sleep you needed, you probably wouldn’t feel very good nor would you be working at maximum capacity.
Likewise, your cells aren’t feeling very good. Here they’ve got all these important responsibilities and they can’t even get enough fuel to operate at maximum efficiency. They’re operating on one of six cogs at best. It’s like running a million-dollar Indy car on cheap gas. You were given a miraculous body. What a pity to feed it inferior fuel.
When our cells don’t get the oxygen they need, several disastrous things happen.
Perhaps the worst is they get loaded down with toxins. They get gunked up with all sorts of awful things that not only slow down digestion but can eventually cause cancer, heart disease, and other things I’m sure you’d rather not talk about.
Wastes such as carbon dioxide and even dead cells must be moved out of the body. And since 70 percent of all wastes are processed through the breath (as opposed to the bowels and bladder), lack of oxygen causes wastes to accumulate.
This buildup of toxic wastes translates as fat. If you build up more toxic waste than you eliminate, it’s got to be stored somewhere. Your body, in all its miraculous wisdom, refuses to store it in or near vital organs—at least for as long as possible. So where does it go? You guessed it: straight to your thighs, your buns, your waist, your upper arms, and fatty tissues in other parts of your body.
If the problem goes unchecked, the ultimate result is not only obesity, but general discomfort and life-threatening lethargy as the body spends all its energy on getting rid of the toxic wastes. No wonder you’re too tired to jump on that StairMaster or for that matter get up and change the channel on the TV. Thank goodness for remote controls.
As it is now, with all these toxins, it’s like stepping over a giant elephant every time you walk into the bathroom. You’re not going to get there as fast as you could if the elephant were back in India or Africa where it belongs.
Adding to the problem, your blood chemistry gets screwed up. Because toxins are acidic, your acid-alkaline seesaw tips toward acid, which causes your system to retain water. After all, the extra water will help neutralize the acid. This, of course, adds even more weight, more bloat. Which causes you to breathe even higher in the chest, getting even less oxygen. The cycle is self-perpetuating. Once you rid your body of all the toxins, it can go to work processing the food you give it.
